My design process

Product Briefing

Collecting detailed product information guides my design decisions and helps refine my direction. Core elements like category, travel range, and frame material define the bike's character, while specifics such as geometry and kinematics reveal its true intent and shape a focused, purposeful design.

Trend Analysis

After defining the target customer and the bike's place in the lineup, I study how other brands approach similar models and what riders expect from them. I summarize these insights in a moodboard combining visuals, data, and key observations to guide the team's direction.

Sketching

This stage is highly creative, but the earlier research helps define a clear direction for the bike's look. I create accurate renders using the correct components when available and present the strongest concepts to the product and design teams for feedback.

Adaptation

I believe good design is work measured by its production viability. This step ensures the design can be realistically manufactured, including masks, logos, and placement, so the final bike can be faithfully brought to life without compromising the original concept.

Color R&D

Once the design is approved, I explore color options while keeping the target customer and brand in mind. I ensure the model fits the brand identity and seasonal lineup, with each color carefully developed to enhance the bike's overall appeal.

Implementation

This phase summarizes the previous steps and communicates the planned design to the factory. I provide pixel-perfect files, explanations, and masking pieces, while remaining open to feedback or necessary adaptations.

Learn and Adapt

Seeing the final bike for the first time is a privilege, but observing client reactions is the most rewarding part. I collect feedback from clients and project participants, capturing lessons learned to improve and adapt future designs.
